Before You Book

A few honest things worth knowing — so there are no surprises and your session is exactly what you need.

Who am I working with?

I’m Jurand — the only therapist here, and I’m a guy.

Your Place Massage Therapy is a solo practice. There are no female therapists on staff, and I don’t have plans to change that. If that’s a dealbreaker, I completely understand — and I’d rather you know now than feel uncomfortable on the table.

If you’re open to working with a male therapist and want results-driven bodywork, I’d love to help.

Can my partner or friend come too?

Not at the same time, no.

Since I work alone, I can only see one person per session. I’m not set up for couples massages or back-to-back same-room sessions. You’re welcome to book separately — just not simultaneously.

I called and got voicemail. Is anyone there?

Yes — I’m just in session.

I’m usually working with a client during business hours, which means I can’t pick up the phone. The best ways to reach me:

Can I just stop by?

Please don’t — I work by appointment only.

There’s no front desk. If you show up without a booking, I’m either with a client or not there at all. Save yourself the trip and book online.

What kind of massage do you do?

Deep tissue, sports, and trigger point work — not spa-style Swedish.

If you’re looking for long, flowing, full-body relaxation strokes, I’m probably not your guy. That’s not a knock on Swedish massage — it’s just not what I specialize in.

What I do: focused, methodical work on specific muscles, working through layers of tissue to find and release the actual source of tension or pain. It’s clinical, purposeful, and effective — but it feels different from a day-spa experience.

If you’re dealing with chronic pain, athletic recovery, or a specific problem area, that’s exactly what I’m built for.

Can you go lighter? I don’t want it too deep.

Absolutely — but the technique stays the same.

I can adjust pressure from very light all the way to very deep, and I’ll always work within your comfort level. What I can’t do is switch to a different style of massage — broad, gliding strokes aren’t part of how I work.

Think of it this way: I’m always working one muscle group at a time, with intention. Whether that’s light and slow or heavy and slow is entirely up to you.

Do you work with minors, pregnant clients, or cancer patients?

No — those are outside my scope of practice.

I don’t work with clients under 18, and I’m not trained in prenatal or oncology massage. These populations need therapists with specialized training, and I’d rather refer you to someone properly equipped than work outside my lane.

If you fall into one of these categories, I’m happy to point you toward a therapist in my wellness network who can help.
